The IBCP is involved in several teaching programmes (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Structural Biology, Bioinformatics), at various levels, organised by Claude Bernard University Lyon 1. In addition, the IBCP has been instrumental in the development of the new Masters programme (Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics and biology of the cell, Mathematics and Computing for the Life Sciences) as part of the recent restructuring of higher education in France. Groups at the IBCP host students in two doctoral schools:

1. Interdisciplinary School of Science and Health (EDISS, Director Prof. D. Revel)

2. Cellular  and Molecular Integrated Biology (BMIC, Director Dr. T. Gaude)

Several Masters programmes are affiliated to these two doctoral schools.
